About Me

Photo on 6-4-13 at 4.14 PMMy name is Renée Canada Wuerth, and I’m the founder of The Mind-Body SHIFT. As a nutritional therapist, holistic health coach and yoga instructor, I create a warm and supportive environment for clients to explore and achieve their specific health and lifestyle goals. My specialties include autoimmune disease, movement disorders, chronic pain and stress management.

Living with my own chronic illness, I navigated the U.S. healthcare system without a compass before supplementing my own research with graduate courses in public health and Ayurvedic medicine, as well as with professional certification in nutritional therapy, integrative nutrition health coaching and yoga teacher training. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about what works and what needs changing in modern Western medicine.

Through the Mind-Body SHIFT, I continue my exploration of holistic health modalities, reporting on the latest in integrative medicine, sharing inspirational interviews, and reviewing books and products on nutrition, fitness and lifestyle. As a journalist for 20 years, I have also written about the environment, education, relationships, social issues and the arts for varied publications, including The Good Men Project, Elephant Journal, BlogHer, YourTango, Moondance: Celebrating Creative Women, San Francisco Chronicle and The Hartford Courant.
